Welcome to Cycle Touring Supplies. Established in 2013 on a part time basis, with some lofty ambitions, but as at May 2020 still a good way to go.
Update June 2022
Great to be back at York Rally again. Dry weather, and a good turnout meant a successful weekend. Some sellers (myself included) found the price increase a challenge to accommodate, and with numbers buying down on previous years, probably in part due to the economic climate. Fingers crossed it will be on again next year.
Update Dec 2020
With virtually no events since March, a very dull year in the cycling calendar. A few events now scheduled for spring, fingers crossed these take place. Sympathies are with event organizers in the current climate, with so many restrictions in place. The Suffolk
retro bike show did take place in September, run by Steve Grimwood, and both attendance and organisation were good.
Update Dec 19
As we head towards the end of 2019, time for an update on here. Been suffering a bad back, which has meant I've missed all the Autumn jumbles as I've been unable to drive. A good bit of walking and cycling has just about cured me, its great to be back to good health.
Meanwhile I've opened a shop on ebay, CycleFootwearuk, offering secondhand cycle shoes, as well as the new ones available on here.
Lots of other secondhand cycling goods available too, see my store page on how to buy. When all my products have been listed items will start appearing on this site, but meanwhile it is possible to buy or offer me a price, without being a member of ebay. I can easily place items on this site to buy by request, or alternatively contact me via the various methods shown on this site.
I've been helping somebody out driving a van for some months, which has enabled me to pay a few bills while I now pay some more attention to this operation. I've managed some limited touring this year in Somerset and North Devon. My own accounts of holidays will be appearing here soon, and there will be chance for others to add there's to the site.
Larger sizes of the Arturo cycling shoes will be appearing next year (Sizes13 & 14). Despite spending some time looking at developing new products, not made any progress. Further work will be continuing in the future months.
Mildenhall Cycling Festival has sadly run down, but not surprising given the hard work req'd to run something like this on a voluntary basis. its looking likely that the East Midlands Camping Rally, which has been running for the last 20 yrs (managed by myself for the last 5) will be running at August Bank Holiday in 2020, so there will be somewhere to cycle to over the Aug bank holiday.
South Derbyshire jumble (new venue) was run early May, but the hall was still being refurbished, but despite this the event was a success for a first event. It will be running again, and a date should be available shortly.
August 18
Jumble and festival spending down on last year, is it the dreaded Brexit? In line with other retailing if the reports are to be believed. Website now live again, and first order received. Products will be updated during the coming month.
South Derbyshire jumble booked for 30th September, March's was successful despite the snow.
Sep 2017
For those who've purchased from me. many thanks. If you've subsequently found any purchase from me to be defective, please do let me know. I'm currently working at improving pricing/display/presentation, and currently booking in to this Autumn's jumbles.
Update Feb 2017
A difficult first year of trading full time. Upgraded van and gazebo, but only used them for a couple of shows. Some existing rallies/festivals didn't want any sort of commercial presence, so I didn't do as much trading as I hoped. Some festivals that ran last year, don't seem to be on in 2017, showing how difficult it can be to establish one. Cycle live in Nottingham, with over 4000 cyclists in attendance, proved a disappointment, as 99% didn't seem to want to purchase anything. I was blessed with some great weather at the shows I did attend, and loved talking to lots of cyclists. Spending at jumbles seems to be falling, not helped by the fact it is the same people attending them. As I only managed to break even at many events, I've been working as a van driver in between, which has been much more profitable.
